    FeatureBugs

    Hello,

    1. Several corrections to pages that are not displayed correctly on mobile.

    2. There are now 2 newsletters sent out every week. A. One titled "While you were away" which sends you the changes that have been made to the Site since your last visit (this is sent automatically after 6 days of inactivity, on playview.eu every Saturday at 10:00 AM) and B. The second one titled "playview weekly" which sends what was added each week to all members. Both newsletters can be disabled via profile settings if you wish.

    3. The site's 404 page has changed. 404 pages appear when you access a page that doesn't exist, which on all sites results in a blank page or an error page. For us, a special version now appears (hopefully you'll never see it, haha) and notifies an admin to check it. If you want to see one, click on the link below: https://www.playview.eu/deniparxei

    4. The presentation of the info tab when you enter a poster has changed. More elements have been added to the "at a glance" section, and on mobile, they work with a swipe right/left.

    5. An icon has been added when I tag a profile in a review, e.g. Steven Spielberg, a company Naughty Dog, a movie Back to the Future, a series Lioness, a game 007 First Light. So now when you see them, you know what they are; they're not just links.

    6. The presentation of the main protagonists of a title (where applicable) has changed, and it now shows the name of their role in the title below their name. A small icon has also been added there.

    7. A new major feature has been added where you can now search by Nationality from the sorting option. This means you can, for example, find all the Greeks we have on Playview. Additionally, for each title, it states the nationality of the production (up to 3 supported), and by clicking on it, you are redirected to that page. Furthermore, if you go to our contributors (you can access it by clicking at the very top of the homepage (if you're on mobile) or on the left if you're on desktop, where we state how many contributors we have). If you click on that icon, it takes you to the contributors page, which now also shows a menu to select by country, either alphabetically or by the number of profiles available on playview.eu. For each country, there is a presentation of all existing profiles or companies + an info tooltip at the very top that shows you a special graphic for that country along with statistics on their production in games, movies, and series worldwide! See for example here for Usa: https://www.playview.eu/country/us?scope=all

Until next time, take care everyone!!

    FeatureMilestoneTweaksBugs
    1. 20 new avatars have been added, featuring cats, dogs, snakes, and tigers in playview.eu style

    2. The "I watched / I played" feature has been upgraded, and you can now mark dates for when you watched or played a title + whether you are currently playing that game or watching that series. Season logic has also been added.

    3. New feature titled "Release Radar"
Based on your favorites + what you've added with "I watched / I played / I'm playing / I'm watching," it shows you upcoming releases, next episodes in series + the most important events in gaming, movies, TV series, and technology that are coming in the future.

A bug that occurred during member onboarding, specifically in step 4, has been fixed. The bug was initially noticed by artzi73, and I thought it was resolved, but it had another issue on iOS devices. It is now definitively solved.

    BugsFeature
    1. In each Wall Folder, there's a button to declare that you love that item. Now, it will display a counter next to it, and clicking it will show who has pressed it.

    2. In the ideas/problems section, there was already an option to vote, thereby strengthening an idea or indicating that you also have the same problem.
Now, when a user clicks to write an idea or problem, it checks if something similar has already been entered and shows it to you there, so we don't have duplicate entries for the same topic.

    3. More member actions have been added to appear on the wall + in their profile activity.

    4. A bug on the members page has been fixed.

    5. The display of images that appear when playing the title music has been increased by 25%. The goal is for them to be semi-visible.

    6. For every new registration, if you don't upload your own avatar, the Site will choose one for you that hasn't been selected by anyone else. If you upload your own, that will naturally remain.

    7. A reminder has been added when the user logs in from a mobile or desktop device (from mobile it is more important due to lack of space) and logs out once and then every 15 days unless they click on the checkbox and select "I have been informed") which informs them that they have the option to click on reading preferences and increase the space where there is text, for better reading, to make the letters bold or even to increase the font size. The feature remembers your choice, and the next time it displays it again in the same way you had chosen. It is important here that this feature is cross-device. That is, if you log in from your mobile and choose a style or font size, then if you log in from your desktop, it will read the change from your profile and apply it exactly like that!

    8. A new line has been added to my profile, Lancelot
where it shows the titles I have in the foreground this period = what I'm playing, watching, and discovering this period. If it's a game, its presence here doesn't necessarily mean an opinion will immediately follow. Especially with games, I usually focus on one title at a time, aiming to complete it before expressing an opinion on it. Progress, therefore, can be gradual, and updates regarding my progress may appear periodically.

    9. Added a quote to my Setup profile stating that I have written about my equipment in About Lancelot. You can also define what equipment you have from your profile, and it will be visible on your profile.

    10. In "A Few Words," 2 links were added for About Playview where you can learn the story behind Playview.eu how the idea was born, how it evolved over time, and how we got to this point. At the same time, discover its most important features, even those you might not know exist, as well as about About Lancelot where you can discover my story — how my love for games, movies, and series was born from the day I first opened my 8088, and how this love evolved into a continuous journey into the world of gaming. From the years I worked professionally in the field to the experiences that shaped me along the way, get to know my journey through gaming, entertainment, and everything that brought me here

    FeatureTweaksBugs
    1. A new cinematic Media experience has been added. While viewing a title's Media gallery, you can now play the title's soundtrack alongside the images. Whether you're browsing manually or using the automatic slideshow via the Play button, the music continues to play, creating a more immersive, cinematic atmosphere. The music automatically stops when you close the gallery.

    2. Image transitions have been enhanced. When moving to the next image manually or using the automatic slideshow in a title's Media tab, you'll now notice a subtle transition effect before the next image appears, making the experience feel smoother and more cinematic. If it turns out to be distracting, I may add an option to disable it from your profile settings.

    3. Desktop users get an additional visual enhancement. While listening to a title's soundtrack on desktop, you'll notice (depending on your screen size) that the background images in the top-right corner slowly zoom in using a subtle Ken Burns effect and automatically rotate. They're intentionally kept soft and unobtrusive, serving as an atmospheric visual rather than the main focus. This effect is not shown on mobile devices due to limited screen space.

    4. Fixed several tooltip issues. The "Last Update" tooltip would sometimes appear unexpectedly when opening a title poster. This has now been fixed, and the tooltip will no longer appear unintentionally.

I'll send it to some friends so they can try it out. I hope they like the work that's been done. The official launch will likely be in September. Today I'm leaving for Crete for my holidays, and I'll continue to update it there.

    1. Production of the Soft Launch video is complete. It has a lag, damn it, maybe it needs to be re-shot but I won't have time because I'm leaving for Crete. Overall, it conveys the message I want, okay the regular launch video will be much better.

    2. Many corrections to the hubs. I will also work on adding a new Hub, possibly for The Godfather.

    3. New sources were added to the backend for better searching, awards were added to each profile.

    BugsTweaks
    1. A link to the contributors has been added to the stats box. There you can see the latest additions or search (they also appear on our Wall)

    2. The research for the Soft Launch Video has been completed, I have the script of what I will say, okay there might be some lag but they are friends, I don't think it will matter.

    3. A lot of content has been added. More will be added daily from now on so that my opinion or updates can be included everywhere.

    4. A summary has been added to all the titles I have.

    5. The feature was tested where if a member adds a title I don't have, it gets added + they receive a notification. A ... Swede who discovered the Site added a thriller! I tested it, it works perfectly (I haven't seen it, you know I'm not very good with thrillers)

    6. The way companies appear in the classification has been redesigned. Now I think they look much better.

    7. Various backend changes

    8. Display issues with mobile have been resolved

    FeatureMilestone
    1. The member onboarding process has been added. Now, after each registration + activation, a 5-step process appears where you have to choose your favorites (or tell us what they are and we don't have them, this will get better over time. Many tweaks have been made so that it looks good on both desktop and mobile). After choosing your favorites (4 minimum), you will need to select if you are a Gamer, Cinephile or... Binge-watcher and enter your country + city. (special design was made so that it writes FYROM...). Additionally, it suggests you take a tour of the Site (I need to add more steps in the future) or do it later.

    2. The page where you listen to the music of each title has changed. It has now become much more cinematic!

    3. I started research for the Soft Launch video, a video that will be sent to a few friends to be the first to see playview.

    FeatureMilestone
    1. Added "Did you know?". This section displays smaller trivia, which are also included in the emails you receive. They are shown automatically every 8 hours, and you can disable them from your profile!

    2. Added the About Us page. It is divided into 2 sections: About Playview, where I chronicle the entire history of creating Playview + its most important features, and About Lancelot, where I share many facts about myself that you surely don't know. It has a special appearance (as does the site in general) for how it looks on mobile + of course, desktop. This was a very big change that took many 24-hour periods to complete.

    3. Added some informational icons, which explain exactly what certain features do. You will find them in gold color.

    4. Changed the background on our content pages.

  11. 02/07/2026

    V. | 1.3

    FeatureMilestone
    1. New feature added: Notifications + messages. At this stage, messages can only be sent by me. If you favorite something + it receives an update, you will receive a relevant notification + an email.

    2. Added the ability for each member to submit new ideas for features or problems with the Site. This can be done from their profile, and when something is implemented, it is added here and the member is notified. Please report any problems!

    3. New feature added, OUR MEMBERS. There is a link from each user's profile + from the stats box on the main page. You can view other members + their public profile with their favorites. You can follow a member so that if they post something, you will receive a notification.

    4. Added Trakt.tv functionality - Okay, more advanced for many, but essentially with Trakt.tv you can now connect it to your profile and it will show all the movies + series you've watched recently. Trakt is an application where you can keep a history of what you watch, and if you have Kodi, it automatically records everything. Now this history will be transferred to Playview as long as the title exists. What is not available notifies me so I can add it if I see it in the future

    • Members now have the option to invite one or multiple friends to playview.eu

    • Password strength indicator added + blocks non-English names

    • Magic Link feature added. If you don't remember your password, you can enter your email and click it. You will receive a special link (valid for a few hours) to log in to the Site automatically!

    • Improved design for "who is online," now shows what each member is watching, connected with our members

    V. | 1.2

    BugsFeatureTweaks
    1. A new feature, the cinematic preview, has been added. Clicking on the names of those involved in a title or titles no longer immediately opens the link, but instead displays some information about the person or title + the 3 titles they have participated in (if it's a person) and which are available on Playview. If you want to read more, you click again.

    2. On pages featuring individuals where I write biographical information, a new feature has been added so that large texts are not immediately visible; instead, you click to read if you wish.

    3. Relevant photos/logos have been added for each person, with an indicator showing if they have one.

    4. Our Glossary has been improved; it now recognizes with 80% accuracy if there are references to words we have on the Site and automatically applies special tagging. For each, you can read its interpretation in Greek or English, depending on what you have selected.

    5. The profile of each member has been changed and tidied up to display better on mobile devices and, of course, desktops. Your favorites have been added, so you can specify what computer or console or home cinema you have

    • Added the ability for each member's wall status update to mention another member or a person or a title with @

    • Many bugs related to mobile viewing have been resolved

    BugsTweaks
    1. Although the flag for language change is available in the menu, it has also been added to the new registration modal. By selecting a flag from there, the Site will be locked to send you emails + messages in that language.

    2. A loading screen has been added if there is a delay when loading the poster + the Site itself.

    3. The trailers have been changed. There was a lag in loading, the code was cleaned up + a Full Screen Button was added to view photos + videos. On your mobile, it prompts you to turn the device sideways.

    4. What is displayed on mobile + desktop for posters has been corrected to gain more space.

    5. The Share Widget has been radically changed. It now has an option where, by pressing it, especially from mobile devices, you can maximize the text area for better reading.

    6. Many technical changes. Specifically: font-size: 7pt;">      Faster initial load — Heavy modals load only when needed; main image preloading, YouTube facade — Static image with play button; player loads only on click (~1MB gain), Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) — The Wall doesn't "jump" — shift dropped from 0.92 to ~0.18, Font preloading — Brand font appears instantly, no text reflow, Back to top button & reveal on scroll — Subtle appearance animations as you scroll down the page (11/07), Welcome back — Discreet welcome modal when you return to the page.

    FeatureMilestone
    1. New feature added -> Our Wall. All new content additions are recorded there + new members who can write up to 3 status updates per day or reply to others + make some reactions to content that has been added.

    2. At the same time, it shows a list of members with points they earn by taking actions on playview.eu

    3. Another feature of the wall is the Folder or otherwise Evidence Locker which shows something related to series, movies + games that you surely won't know! It changes every 48 hours, it has a box that changes colors as it approaches showing something new

    4. So the logic is that to see what new has been added, I click on the wall.

    5. At the same time, on each poster on the home pages, an orange dot is shown, by pressing continuously from a mobile or from a desktop with hover you can see when the update was added

    1. Finished a very big change to the main part of the Site, which are the windows that open when you click on each poster. Redesigned all 4 tabs there (info, my opinion, media, comments) to look best on both mobile and desktop. The credits are now displayed with small photos, the whole structure has changed, in addition, in my view, the appearance has been enriched as well as the Media Tab, where the material is now divided into my own material (mainly from games) but also videos & photos that I find from the internet.

    2. The My View tab now has a double appearance. In games that haven't been released, in series that I'm watching and haven't finished, they don't have the logic of a single article, but appear with a logic of a timeline where I write about anything new that comes out as I'm watching it or a new episode, for example. If you've put it in your favorites, you'll receive notifications.Eg see the game The Vernyhorn by clicking on the tab my view.

    3. Changed our menu, with new coloring closer to our orange color, big change too.Changes were made to both mobile and desktop menus,

    4. Changed the panel that appears when you click on your profile avatar while on desktop

As of today, Playview is officially running on Playview.eu, although I haven't told anyone yet. If someone happens to discover it on their own, even better. 😄

I also redesigned our logo from scratch, specifically the gamepad. I created something much closer to the style I always wanted it to have. Even though I've mentioned before that I'm primarily a PC gamer, none of the concepts I tried with a mouse felt right. I went through quite a few designs before finally settling on the gamepad. Sometimes the best design simply wins.

The final version of the logo is now complete. I'm also thinking about giving it a subtle idle animation whenever someone stays on a page for a while. I have a few ideas I'd like to experiment with, so we'll see how that turns out.

From now on, the logo will also appear as a watermark on every image and video I upload. After testing around 30 different applications, I finally found the perfect one for the job: Action!. It'll also be my recording software for every new game I play, so I can upload my own gameplay videos... at least the ones where I don't completely embarrass myself. 😅

My steam is still full of games I haven't finished yet, games that are close to the end, and even a few that I never really started. They'll all get their turn eventually... I just need to find the time!

Today's release is a major milestone because the website is finally running on its own domain. From here on, I'll continue filling each title with detailed information while gradually adding everything I've played or watched over the years.

A lot of changes have been introduced recently.

    1. Users can now customize their own homepage from their account settings. This is especially useful on mobile, where you can disable the scrolling announcement banner and the statistics panel to free up more screen space. The statistics don't disappear completely—they simply move into the settings page instead.

    2. I've also added several new reading tools. Users can now change the text size, make the text bolder, share pages to Facebook, X, or via email, and expand modal windows for a more comfortable reading experience. These options are particularly useful when viewing posters or other pop-up windows, whether on mobile or desktop.

    3. The My View panel now offers two different modes. The first is the traditional review, where I share my thoughts on a game, movie, or TV series after experiencing it. The second mode is designed for upcoming releases. Instead of a review, it works as a personal development diary where I post updates whenever something new appears—new screenshots, trailers, release date announcements, interviews, delays, and anything else worth mentioning until the title is finally released.

So many changes... and you know how these things go. It takes quite a bit of money to build everything that's in your head! Then you start thinking, "Maybe I should add this feature too... Oh, and I'd love to have that as well..." Before you know it, a project that was supposed to stay fairly conservative starts asking for a pretty serious budget. 😂

Still, step by step, I think it's becoming something really beautiful.

The real challenge, though, will be filling every title with everything I want it to have, plus adding EVERYTHING I've played or watched over all these years. It'll take a lot of work, but there's no rush in my mind. I'll just keep improving it little by little, fixing bugs as they appear, and gradually filling the entire database.

Before I announce it publicly, I think I should have at least 150 titles on the site—around 50 in each category. That's a huge amount of work. Sometimes it even goes beyond the original idea of "this is just my personal lifeblog." I end up falling into the perfectionism I've had since I was a kid, feeling like everything has to be filled out exactly the way it should be.

I also need to find a good application to record my own gameplay and videos while I'm playing. We'll see!

At the same time, I have an... ENDLESS Google Keep list of ideas and features I want to build. Every now and then I end up throwing more money at the project just to keep bringing those ideas to life.

Right now, Playview isn't even running on Playview.eu yet—it's still on Lovable's domain. My plan is to move it to the actual domain as soon as possible, but without telling anyone about it until I've reached a decent number of titles. I already have a few ideas for what comes after that, but one step at a time.

Anyway... I'm off to bed. 😄

So many changes, and you know how these things go—it takes quite a bit of money to build whatever you have in your head! "Maybe I should add this feature too?" "Oh, I’d love to have that as well!" And somewhere around there, a project you said you'd handle conservatively starts demanding a significant budget, haha.

But step by step, I think something really beautiful is being built. Of course, filling it up with everything I want each title to have is going to be a lot of work + adding in here EVERYTHING I’ve played or watched all these years. Slowly but surely, though; there’s no rush in my mind. Along with the bugs that pop up and I have to find a way to fix, I’ll gradually fill everything up. I believe that to announce it to the world, I need to have added at least 150 titles. That means 50 in each category.

We're talking about a lot of work, and sometimes it goes beyond the logic of, "you know, this is just my lifeblog." That perfectionism I've suffered from since I was a kid kicks in, and everything has to be filled out exactly right. I also need to find an app to capture my own gameplay and videos while I play games—we'll see!

At the same time, I have an... ENDLESS list of things I want to build on Google Keep, and every now and then, I try to... throw some money at it and get things done.

For now, I’m not on https://www.playview.eu but on Lovable’s domain instead. My thought is to move to the main domain as soon as possible without telling anyone, until I reach a satisfying number of titles. I have some thoughts for later on, but all in good time.

Anyway, that’s it, I’m going to bed.

Unfortunately, due to work, I haven't been able to spend much time on it lately, but a lot of work got done today. By now, the homepage, the logo, and the internal sections are all set up exactly how I want them, and I already have the hubs in mind for the near future. At the same time, the admin page has everything laid out step-by-step in blocks so I can manage everything I need independently. There are still plenty of bugs and a lot of work ahead, since I have to translate it into English every single time. I believe that by this summer or September, it will be in good enough shape to start rolling it out to friends and taking notes on everything I see. :)

I decided to discuss it a bit with ChatGPT before proceeding with Lovable, as I wouldn't know how to proceed otherwise. The discussion is going very well; it has the feel and emotion I wanted it to have from the start. I've left the Photoshop drafts and am now moving on to examples for almost everything. The AI naturally makes quite a few mistakes and costs money, but it's turning out nice. It's taking the form I want. I'll create as many previews as I'd like for now, and we'll see about Lovable later on. :S

In a presentation I attended today regarding my job, they told me about a new AI App called Lovable. They mostly shared prompts that I could use in my line of work (e-commerce), and I actually ended up creating some very useful dashboards. Tonight, I was thinking about its potential, which is truly amazing—as long as you know what you want to do.

'Do you think it could work for Playview?' that little voice said again.... :devil

Nah, I don't think so, let it go... besides, I'm already buried in work.

It's Friday, January 2, 2026. New hopes for this year to do various things I have in mind.
"And what about playview?" a little voice inside me says; "Will you do something this year?" :T

I look at the folder in my documents, with the PSDs, made about ... 10 years ago! Page by page on how I would create a lifeblog with games, movies, and series I watch. Everything designed with considerable detail.

At one point, I was thinking of starting it with my friend Andreas Tsourinakis, and the design has remained with that since then. As time went on, days passed and obligations came up, and of course work, and nothing progressed. Besides, when the PSDs were put in the folder, I had already been making them for 2-3 years, so you can do the math, right?

5 years ago I had made up my mind, I had found a developer from the Czech Republic and he took it to a certain point, then 2 from India, money but ultimately the result was very bad. Shoddy work I thought, what's the point of doing something half-baked?I remember I had a glass of wine one evening and thought, 'this isn't working out, let's leave it for the future.'

The years passed, but generally playview was on my mind, mainly because I was paying for the domains every 2 years, but also because lancelot@gmail.com was constantly in front of me since I had created Google Accounts Legacy back then (which fortunately remained free when Google started charging even its shadow) and I logged in often (I had set other things to go there

    my email).

"Do you think we should do something this year?" the little voice again....we'll see :S
